Senior Bridge Design Engineer – Pietermaritzburg

Job Criteria

Jeffares & Green is looking to employ a Senior Structural Engineer with 10-15 years experience for the Pietermaritzburg office. Must be a professional registered engineer (PrEng) and be prepared to travel.
 
Qualifications:
B Sc Eng (Civil), Bachelor's Degree in Structures, Pr Eng. A Management Degree / Diploma would be an advantage.
 
Experience:
10–15 years relevant experience in various types of bridge design. Must have extensive experience in Concrete Structure Design and Steel Design.
 
Profile:
Responsibilities would include:
· Liaising with clients and procurement of new clients
· Marketing of the Company and its services
· Tendering for work
· Compilation and submission of tender documents
· Management of more junior Structural Engineers, Technologists, Technicians and CAD Operators.
· Offering of technical advice as required
· General administration including budgets and general management of staff.
 
Other skills required are:
· Computer literacy.
· Proficiency in design software such as Sofistic, Civil Designer, Prokon and AutoCAD.
· Must have strong leadership and organisational skills.
· Must be able to mentor young engineers
· Must be a team player with excellent people skills.
 
Drivers licence essential. Must have traceable and contactable references.

Job Criteria

Qualifications:
Must have a BSc in Civil or Agricultural Engineering.
Must be a Professionally Registered Engineer (Pr Eng)

Experience:
10 to 15 years post-graduation experience in water and waste water design. Computer competence in AllyCAD, Civil Designer and Microsoft.

Job Description:
The job involves undertaking detailed design of water and waste water treatment works, pipelines, valves, chambers, pump stations, reticulation and bulk water systems, the checking of designs ,involves liaising with clients and suppliers and also the Mentorship of junior technicians, technologists and engineers.

Profile:
The candidate should be well rounded in all aspects of his/her life. Drivers licence essential. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, be prepared to work in the field and to have good communication skills.

NOTES
Permanent position based in Pietermaritzburg, but will require travel from time to time.

Resident Engineer – Rustenburg (North-West Province) Ref JHB0046

Jeffares & Green is looking to employ a Resident Engineer with 8 – 15 years experience to supervise the construction in a project involving the re-building of an existing road.
This is a contract position that will run for approximately 18 – 24 months withthe possibility for the project being extended thereafter.

Job Criteria

Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of a BSc in Geohydrology / Geology .
Must be a Registered Natural Scientist (Pr Sci Nat).

Experience:
